Laura Poretzky-Garcia is the Creative Director of Été Swim. Born in France and raised between Paris, Rio de Janeiro and New York, Laura’s international upbringing has strongly influenced her work, which blends French femininity, Brazilian sensuality and American simplicity. Prior to launching Été Swim, Laura founded Abaeté, a complete line of ready-to-wear that embodied her unique spirit and design aesthetic. She has presented her collection at New York Fashion Week, where she received wide acclaim and was awarded the UPS Sponsorship for New Designers. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Laura’s designs have appeared in Vogue, Elle and Harper’s Bazaar, and her creations have graced the likes of Kate Moss, Rachel Bilson and Jennifer Aniston.
Lily Dickerson Maddock is the President of Été Swim. With a degree in communications from Southern Methodist University, Lily honed her fashion-industry acumen during eight years at the helm of liDi, a contemporary knitwear label sold in high-end boutiques across the country. Described as “downtown eccentric meets uptown aristocrat,” the liDi collection combined lush upholstery fabrics with a contemporary fit and was featured in numerous fashion and lifestyle magazines, including Town & Country, Harper’s Bazaar and Lucky. Lily lives in New York with her family and is an avid horseback rider.
Laura and Lily were brought together by mutual friend Lauren Santo Domingo. Lauren having known both of them and their past work in fashion knew they would make an excellent team.
